Microsoft Windows® Codename Longhorn (2001 - 2006)

Longhorn is the Codename for Windows® XP's  successor.At first Longhorn was ment to be a minor release with some small features. Soon after the project gained momentum it was decided to make Longhorn a major release.

The project failed completely and development had to reset. More than three years late Microsoft released Windows® Codename 'Longhorn' as Windows® Vista.
